Nintendo’s May 2014 Lineup
May is quite a big month for Nintendo with games such as Kirby Triple Deluxe, Mario Golf: World Tour (coming out for the 3DS) and of course Mario Kart 8 (Wii U).
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Kirby Triple Deluxe is fairly the same to the other Kirby titles, run left and right, suck in the baddies, copy their powers, repeat. The game’s title doesn’t mean much aside from being a title that easily abbreviates Kirby: 3D and according to Derrick Sanskrit
If most of Kirby’s adventures were ice cream cake, Triple Deluxe is Jell-O: quick and sweet, likable but insubstantial.”
Mario Golf: World Tour
As we all know there aren’t many sports that Mario hasn’t done but this addition has failed to disappoint. The main campaign is played with the players Mii where they are put into the role of a rookie golfer trying to climb the ranks in hope of beating the greats such as Mario, Luigi, Peach etc.
Mario Kart 8
Mario Kart Wii sold 38.82 million copies, so its understandable why Nintendo is pushing Mario Kart 8 to be the “Wii U’s saviour”. It certainly is a major franchise, but it isn’t going to “save” the Wii U on name recognition alone. However, it does look like it has the potential to be one of the best games in the series, with huge additions that have the potential to improve the franchise including Anti-gravity karts, Ditto and loads of new racers that you’d NEVER think would have been included in the Mario Kart title. We only have to wait until May 30th to play it.
